Meet your coach
My name is Jeff Scardino, and I'm a native of Tulsa. I attended St. Pius X School and Bishop Kelley High School. I married my high school sweetheart and now have three children, all attending Marquette Catholic School. After playing baseball and graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2012, I returned home and started my professional career as a teacher at San Miguel School, working with junior high students. I also coached baseball and football at my alma mater, Bishop Kelley. In 2013, I accepted the youth minister role at Christ the King Parish, working under a mentor with over 20 years of experience in youth ministry, and also under Bishop Daniel Mueggenborg for nine years.
From 2016 to 2021, I divided my time between Christ the King youth ministry and Bishop Kelley as a full-time Theology teacher. During this time, I continued coaching and became the head baseball coach at Bishop Kelley from 2019 to 2022. At Christ the King, my team and I had one of the most successful Catholic youth ministries in the Tulsa diocese.
My ministry career has revolved around junior and senior high students, where I learned recruitment strategies, efficient planning, building relationships, helping with discipleship, leading retreats, mission trips, service projects, and effectively running small groups of all sizes. I believe youth ministry is one of the most vital ministries a parish can offer to young people. I aim to share my experiences and knowledge with every youth minister who will listen. Tulsa Diocesan parishes and beyond deserve the same level of knowledge and coaching that I received. I want to support other youth ministers and provide every student with an incredible youth ministry experience that can last a lifetime.
